New college grant tailored to the healthcare field
In today's economy it's the perfect training scenario, that's what school leaders at Three Rivers Community College say about the program.
It's tailored towards the healthcare field and it's all possible through a $1.1 million federal grant.
The program will help train students to be certified in a variety of jobs in the healthcare field.
Those jobs that are out there in the Heartland right now, and are demanding a skilled set of workers.
Certifications range from 16 to 150 classroom hours. Curriculum includes remedial skills if needed. Learning can also be applied towards advanced degrees.
Dr. Wes Payne, vice president for student learning, feels this is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to begin, or transition into a job in the health care field quickly. And then, work towards a long term career in healthcare.
