Three Rivers to host Halloween Safe Zone | Arts & Culture
POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - Three Rivers College has announced that people living in or near Poplar Bluff are invited to bring their children to trick-or-treat in a safe, fun environment at this year's Halloween Safe Zone.
The event will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Bess Activity Center. Admission is free and activities will include games, dance performances, costume contests and more.
“We’ve really amped up our activities and entertainment this year,” said Three Rivers’ Vice President for Student Success Jason Hoseney. “We’ve partnered with quite a few local businesses who will be helping us provide candy and offset other costs. We hope to have a record-setting number of people come through the doors, like last year, and we want to make sure they enjoy themselves.”
Three Rivers says this year, the Safe Zone will feature a flash mob dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
They say last year, the Safe Zone attracted about 4,000 people. Hoseney says the college hopes to exceed that number this year, and plans to continue hosting the Safe Zone as an annual public event.
