POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - The Chenille Sisters, an acoustic trio known to their tens of thousands of fans across the country for their exquisite harmonies and entertaining performing style, will perform at 7 p.m. on November 30 at the Three Rivers College Tinnin Center in Poplar Bluff.

Tickets are $10 each and are available online at trcc.edu/tinnin, at the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce, Dexter Chamber of Commerce, the college Financial Services office and at the door.

The Chenille Sisters: Cheryl Dawdy, Grace Morand, and Connie Huber are three very different women whose voices blend in an eclectic mix of vintage jazz, lively folk rock, and quick-witted comedy, said Tinnin Center director Robert Cook.

“Their performances are described as a rollicking ride that is wild, funny, wise, endearing, poignant, and vibrant,” he said.

The Chenille Sisters have been performing together since 1985. The trio has recorded 12 albums, including three children’s albums that all won Parent’s Choice awards. The group has performed across the United States, including appearances on the public radio hit “A Prairie Home Companion;” several television specials, including the Emmy Award-winning “The Secret of the Box;” and numerous folk festivals.

Cheryl Dawdy, the soprano of the trio, draws on her background as a balladeer to tell stories infused with emotion. Grace Morand has a broad vocal range, a powerful voice, and a wacky performance style full of humor and musical theater. Connie Huber is known for her deft guitar playing, rich vocal harmonies, and quick wit.

“The Chenille Sisters can perform jazzy harmony numbers reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters, folk rock, ballads, and hilarious parodies,” Cook said. “They keep their audiences thoroughly entertained.”
