Five arrested in connection with string of 9 burglaries in Butler Co. | Crime
BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Butler County Sheriff's Office arrested five people in connection with a string of burglaries that began around the second week of June in the Eastern Butler County area.
Aaron M. Lacy, 34, Paula G. Lacy, 49, and Tommy Peterson, 26, have been charged with second degree burglary with $100,000 bonds.
Jessica L. Carter, 26, and Lonnie D. Barriner have been charged with receiving stolen property.
According to the sheriff's office, they took seven burglary reports and one stealing all in the eastern Butler County area on June 27. They say two of the victims reported seeing a white SUV in the area of the burglaries. Later that day, officers say a tip led them to three possible suspects living in the Poplar Bluff and Brosely area.
On June 28, deputies say two search warrants were conducted on homes on Wood Street and Henry Street in Poplar Bluff where a large amount of stolen items were recovered, including: electronics, guns and jewelery. Officers say two suspects, Carter and Peterson, were arrested.
During the investigation officers say it was determined two other suspects were staying at an address off Highway T in Butler County. Deputies responded to the home where two suspects were arrested.
According to the sheriff's office, to this date, there are nine burglaries believed to be associated with these suspects.
