AWA hosts 'Howl at the Moon' benefit party | Events
POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - The Animal Welfare Alliance will hold its 4th Annual “Howling at the Moon” party on Friday, November 2, at the Westwood Center in Poplar Bluff.
The event will start at 6 p.m. and last until 10:30 p.m.
“We’re excited about moving to the Westwood Center. It’s a beautiful location with plenty of parking,” said Julie Hudson, an AWA board member who is chairing this year’s event. “Everything else will be the same as before: a full meal catered by Maya’s; great live music by the Thin Blue Line band; free drinks; dancing; a silent auction -- all for just $30 per person. It’s the best party in town,” she said.
AWA recently purchased a site just north of Poplar Bluff on which to build a no-kill animal shelter.
Money raised by “Howling at the Moon” will go toward that project as well as existing AWA programs, including distemper and parvovirus shots for puppies in Poplar Bluff’s city animal shelter and financial aid to help low-income pet owners get their dogs and cats spayed or neutered.
Tickets for “Howling at the Moon” are $30 each, available at Key Drugs, the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce, Doggy Designs, Dille’s Discount Pharmacy or from any member of the AWA Board of Directors.
