'Mobility Impaired Deer Hunt' held in Butler County | Events

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Nearly two dozen hunters and their families gathered for the mobility impaired modern gun deer hunt on Saturday.
It designed for those hunters who have a permanent physical condition that severely impairs their mobility.
The event was took place at Wappapello Lake.
The hunters said they're just happy to be able to participate.
"I thank God everyday that I get to go out and do stuff like this," said Justin Montgomery of Poplar Bluff. "I'm glad, it has purpose for me."
"I love hunting," said Tori McAfee from Winona. "I've actually came to this place for four years now. It's just a good time with everybody here whether we kill anything or not.
The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at Wappapello Lake, in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation and the National Wild Turkey Federation, sponsored the hunt on Saturday, October 20.
The hunt continues on Sunday, October 21.
Hunters were selected by random drawing the two-day hunt conducted at various locations.
