Rapid Response Team to assist displaced Poplar Bluff area workers | Events
POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) – The State Rapid Response Team has been activated to assist employees in the Poplar Bluff area who are facing displacement due to the closure of Hostess’ operations in the U.S.
A Rapid Response meeting will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, at the Missouri Career Center, 1903 Northwood Drive, Suite No. 2, in Poplar Bluff.
Representatives from the South Central Region Workforce Investment Board will meet with affected employees to provide information on available area job openings and reemployment services available to them such as specialized workshops, skills assessments, job search/resume assistance, access to training and more.
These services are provided by trained workforce professionals with Missouri’s Career Center system and are of no cost to the workers or employers.
Any Hostess employee who is facing job loss due to the company’s closure is encouraged to file for Unemployment Insurance immediately and attend the Rapid Response meeting.
The meeting will take place Friday, Nov. 30 at the Missouri Career Center in Poplar Bluff at 10 a.m..
