Corps of Engineers schedules Water Control Manual Update meeting

Corps of Engineers schedules Water Control Manual Update meeting

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers is in the process of updating the Wappapello Lake Water Control Manual.

As part of the process, public meetings were held in April to allow the public an opportunity to comment on reservoir operations such as recreation (summer) and conservation (winter) pool elevations, discharge rates, draw down dates, recreational and environmental concerns, and other pertinent issues.

Corps of Engineers technical experts developed and evaluated alternative operational scenarios based on those comments. Corps staff held five meetings in August and September to present the proposed preferred operating plan, answer questions, and address public concerns.
