Butler Co. Sheriff investigating overnight gas station fire | News
BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS)- Fire crews battled a large blaze at a gas station overnight near Brosely, Missouri.
Fire crews were called there overnight to what witnesses tell Heartland News was a gas station.
The station was on Highway 51 off of Highway B that runs from Poplar Bluff to Fisk.
No injuries were reported and the fire is considered suspicious, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.
The fire marshal is investigating.
Officials aren't saying much about how the fire started, or who may be behind it. But it does have everybody in the community of Brosley talking.
Apparently, the fire started around midnight at the Batesville Express Gas Station. The outside may not look that damaged but the inside is charred.
Neighbors say they gathered to watch as it burned. This is a blow to the community because the nearest gas station is at least another 5 miles away.
People say this is the place everyone stops to shop or socialize. They say this small town gas station means a lot to people who count on the service.
Hear from witnesses who watched it burn, as Holly Brantley will have the latest on the investigation tonight Heartland News at 10 p.m.
