BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS)- A Butler County woman was finally laid to rest this morning after nine long years.
Family and friends gathered at a Poplar Bluff cemetery for the burial of 74-year-old Mary Lee Grobe.
Grobe disappeared from her Butler County home in 2003.
Her skeletal remains were found in 2009 not far from her house.
A couple of weeks ago the family held a memorial service in Dexter, but was not able to bury their loved one.
Grobe's remains had been at the coroner's office for the last three years.
Coroner Jim Akers said he couldn't release them because two of Grobe's six children refused sign to them over.
That recently changed. Grobe is now at rest next to her husband.
As for cause of death, investigators say that is still a mystery.
