POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS)- The Butler County coroner
rules a Poplar Bluff man's death earlier this summer is connected to synthetic
drugs.
Coroner Jim Akers says he
listed the official cause of Charles Riels' death as excited delirium syndrome
brought on by the use of bath salts.
Riels died in police custody back in July
2012, after they tried to provide him with medical assistance after confronting
him at a local convenience store.
