DAR honors Campbell for career teaching English
POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - Retiring communication arts teacher Kay Campbell of Poplar Bluff High School received statewide recognition from the Missouri State Society Daughters of the Revolution for a career promoting literacy in Southeast Missouri.
The certificate of recognition, signed by DAR State Literacy Promotion Chairwoman Janean Faux, was awarded to the longtime educator for “developing curriculum, ensuring library access and designing programs of study to encourage high school students in their progression of literacy skills.”
This year’s Senior High and secondary grade level R-I Teacher of the Year, Campbell began her tenure at Perry County District 32, teaching eighth grade language arts and reading for a year.
She taught language arts to freshmen and sophomores at Greenville High School for the next four years.
