BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says Route EE will be reduced to one lane while crews make pavement repairs.

The section of road is located between Route 142 East and the end of state maintenance.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Monday, April 2 through Wednesday, April 4 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m daily.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.

MoDOT: Striping to begin on Rtes. in Dunklin, Butler Co.

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says spring marks the beginning of striping season.

According to MoDOT, work is currently underway to re-stripe various state routes, including: Routes 25, 53, 67 and Business 67 in Dunklin and Butler Counties.

Weather permitting, crews will be working from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, excluding weekends.

"Our striping caravan is a continuous, moving operation," said District Traffic Engineer Craig Compas. "Due to the fact that the operation is always moving, no stationary signs will be posted. Proper safety measures will be in place during each operation, including warning signs on MoDOT striping vehicles. We urge motorists to use extreme caution and allow the machinery the space needed to properly apply the reflective paint."

Drivers are advised to stay back 500 feet and follow all safety signage.

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation is looking for the public's feedback on enhancing passenger rail service and improving freight rail access in a draft of the State Rail Plan at meetings in April.

The State Rail Plan is intended to provide a 20-year strategic framework for passenger and freight rail development in Missouri.

"Missourians told us both freight and passenger rail provide numerous economic, environmental and transportation benefits to the state," said Eric Curtit, state administrator of railroads. "They made it very clear increased access to both types of service is important to Missouri's future."

This section of road is located between County Road 327 and County Road 214.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Wednesday, March 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.
