BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at Wappapello Lake, in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation and the National Wild Turkey Federation, will sponsor a Mobility Impaired Modern Gun Deer Hunt to be held on October 19 and 20.
Visitors to the Asher Creek, Lost Creek, Johnson Tract and state-managed wildlife area north of Highway 34 are urged to be vigilant and aware of hunt activities.
In an effort to maximize hunter success, Corps roads 8 and 9 will be closed to vehicular traffic starting the evening of October 18.
Corps road 8 leads to Parking Areas 3 and 4, Lost Creek Trail and Low Water Bridge. Corps road 9 leads from Highway D to the Shook area and is known as Hattie’s Ford Road. Both gates, one at PA 5 and one at Lost Creek Landing Boat Ramp access, will be closed down on Corps road 9.
